The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Area Commander Major Dan Proctor, center, honored longtime Advisory Board members Jay Engelbach, left, and Denver Woolsey, right, with the Life Member Award for their years of service to The Salvation Army.

Engelbach served as Advisory Board Chair from 1990 to 1993 under Area Commander Major Frank Gordon. He served as Finance Committee Chair in which he has guided The Salvation Army in Central Oklahoma through numerous challenges throughout the years. He is a partner at Engelbach Roberts & Co.

Engelbach also served as past president for The Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma City, for the Men’s Dinner Club, the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and was appointed by the Governor in 2011 to the Oklahoma Accountancy Board.

Woolsey, retired CFO for Dolese Bros. Co., served as Salvation Army Advisory Board Chair from 1997 to 1999 under Major George Hoosier. He has also served as treasurer and on the Finance Committee, the Property Committee and the Executive Committee of The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Advisory Board.

He has guided The Army in Central Oklahoma though numerous difficulties. Woolsey also served at the Financial Executive Institute and received his 50-year pin as a CPA in 2011.

William Brown, owner retired of 7-Eleven Stores, was also awarded the Life Member honor. Brown is a financial supporter both personally and through his business, 7-Eleven – the largest single donor to The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Area Command.

He hosted counter top Kettles in 101 stores during the Christmas campaigns and supported the Senior Transportation program with funding of new vans. In 1984, he was a supporter of The Capital Campaign to built the Citadel, located at 2808 SE 44th.

Brown also served for Great Expectations, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Habitat for Humanity and was past chair of The United Way.
